Farewell Starbucks, hello Connection

I wrote this poem to Starbucks, not the people of Starbucks but to the coffee. The great goodness of that place is awsome but as you will see, it went from #1 to #2 on my list.

You once were top dog,
But now no more.
You have been bumped down,
Now second on my list.

Espresso Connection is great,
With it's $2.00 specials, oh yum!
Sorry to leave you behind.
I promise to meet again.

My room, Oh Starbucks, will look like you.
With beautiful deep red walls,
And coffee as the theme.
A perfect place for studies.

Altough yealding no place to sit,
EC still surpasses all.
It lets me try new things,
Without hurting my wallet,

Yet, your Java Chip frappecinno,
Though not very coffeeish,
It stays as my favorite cold drink
For that, only you can offer.

I love the enviroment of your store,
And plan to work there as a job.
EC still really rocks cause
They give me free coffee for my b-day.

I still remain loyal
Despite my new love.
I shall return my Starbucks
Ahh yes, I'll be back!

Mmm... I like it! I also like your taste in coffee, classy, but not too pricy!

Alternate title:

"So Long, Starbucks"

Whoa. We commented at the same time.

I like the invention of "coffeish" - it will go alongside my (future) Dictionary additions of "observative" and "animostistic" (animosity as adjective). Ah, the beauty of English. Though, you do know poems usually rhyme??...

Yah Micah, it might put a mark on your record to do that. I'm so bumbed! I will miss your sermon on Wednesday. But at least we have "The Website" so I can download it.

Leila- I feel privelaged to take part in your dictionary. Will I be quoted?lol

Sarah, I would hate to not give you appropriate credit - I mean, plagiarism is a VERY bad ten-letter word in my Research Paper Class. Don't worry - duly noted and cited. :) I'm praying for you chica - hang onto Him and He'll see you through this storm. He always does - being on the Potter's wheel is often painful, but gloriously wonderful, too - just sometimes moreso in hindsight :)

After reading your comments again i realized that my previous comment sounded very... um... bad-attitude-ish. Don't worry. I didn't have a bad attitude... I was just sad about hearing you switch from SB to EC

...especially when I... Can't... stand... E.C. coffee....

Micah & Tony, I'm sorry, but you're wacked! EC has wonderful coffee. What in the world.

And I meant that with a good attitude. :)

Sarah, I hope you're enjoying Hawaii!
